Epic Math Adventures generates personalized spy missions that make your child the hero — building real math and reading mastery through narrative, adventure, and genuine challenge.
Math enrichment and reading practice.
Two separate programs. Four separate hours.
01 — Math
Existing math programs are good at drilling concepts — but struggle to make practice genuinely engaging for a child who'd rather be doing anything else.
02 — Reading
Reading programs build skills in isolation — but rarely connect to the rich contextual vocabulary and comprehension demands of real academic work.
03 — Both
Doing both well means two separate programs, two separate sessions, and twice the time — for your child and for you.
How It Works
Four steps. Infinite adventures.
A complete system — mission generation, independent play, mastery tracking, and adaptive learning — working together from day one.
Step 01
⚡
Create
Choose math concepts and a theme. A fully personalized mission — complete with villain, location, and narrative — is ready in minutes.
→
Step 02
🎯
Play
Your child works through stepping-stone problems, earns hints when stuck, and defeats the villain in a final math battle — solo or together with you.
→
Step 03
📊
Track
A MAP-aligned mastery map updates after every mission. See exactly what's strong, what needs work, and what to explore next — from arithmetic to calculus.
→
Step 04
🔄
Adapt
Each new mission is calibrated to your child's current mastery, learning pace, and even the themes they've told us they love. It keeps up as they grow.
Why EMA
Not an app. A private tutor that never gets tired.
📖
Stories, not worksheets
Every mission is a complete narrative — an operation name, a villain with a flaw, a real-world location, and a reason the math matters. Story makes the practice stick in a way drilling never does.
🎯
Built for your child, not a classroom
Every mission is generated fresh for your child's exact grade level, learning goals, and reading ability — calibrated independently. No two families get the same adventure.
🗺️
Complete concept coverage — tracked
A MAP Growth–aligned concept map tracks your child's mastery from elementary foundations through high school. You always know where they stand and what to focus on next.
📚
Math that builds reading too
Mission problems are set in real locations with rich narrative text, calibrated to your child's reading level. Parents consistently report vocabulary and comprehension improvements as a byproduct of the adventure.
Many EMA families use it alongside other learning programs — as the engaging, story-driven complement that makes practice something their child actually looks forward to.
EMA works well for ages 7–16. You set both a math grade level (controlling problem complexity and number size) and a reading grade level (controlling story text and vocabulary) independently — so a child who's ahead in one and at grade level in the other gets problems calibrated correctly for both. The concept map spans Kindergarten foundations through AP Calculus.
Both. In Solo mode, your child works completely independently — the app provides escalating Socratic hints when they're stuck, tracks credit per attempt, and flags any disputes for parent review. In Co-op mode, you sit with your child and grade the final battle together. You choose the mode per child, and can switch at any time.
Most math apps focus on structured drill or video instruction — both valuable, and both things EMA is designed to complement rather than replace. EMA's role is different: it gives your child a reason to practice. The missions provide genuine narrative stakes that make the math feel purposeful. EMA also builds reading comprehension as a byproduct, and adapts independently to your child's math and reading levels — something drill-based tools don't do.
The hint system escalates gradually: a first hint prompts thinking, a second narrows the approach, and a third provides more concrete guidance. After three unsuccessful attempts, "Show answer & continue" becomes available — so no child is ever stuck indefinitely. A 💡 Help button also surfaces five Socratic coaching questions designed to teach, not just unblock.
EMA uses a MAP Growth–aligned concept map spanning ten domains: Number Sense & Arithmetic, Fractions & Decimals & Ratios, Measurement & Geometry, Algebra, Statistics & Probability, Pre-Calculus & Calculus, Linear Algebra, Money & Time, Problem-Solving Skills, and Number Systems. A spiral curriculum engine automatically recommends what to reinforce, what to push forward, and what mastered concepts to weave into multi-step problems.
It's designed, not incidental. Every mission's story text is calibrated to your child's reading grade level — set independently from the math level. Problems are embedded in rich narrative: real locations, villain backstories, dramatic stakes. Parents report vocabulary and comprehension improvements over the first few months, particularly in children who read narrowly.
EMA stores only what's necessary to run the product: child profiles, grade levels, and progress data. We do not sell data to third parties, do not use your child's data for advertising, and do not share it with educational institutions. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
You can cancel anytime from your account settings — no email required, no phone call, no retention flow. Your subscription ends at the end of the billing period. The 7-day free trial requires no credit card, so there's nothing to cancel if EMA isn't right for your family.
Our Story
Built by a father, for his daughter.
"I wanted to help my daughter with math and reading. But I wanted it to be something we both looked forward to — an adventure we could share, not a homework session we had to get through. And I wanted it to be efficient: one engaging experience that developed both subjects together, rather than separate hours for each. I couldn't find that anywhere. So I built it."
